World Youth Day, a tradition started by Pope John Paul II in 1986, the event draws hundreds of thousands of youth from all over the world and takes place every three years at different locations around the globe. With the theme of "Rooted and built up in Jesus Christ, Firm in the Faith (Col 2:7)", the 13th edition of WYD took place this August 2011 in Madrid, Spain.
